The past few years have seen many transformations in the business world, but one of the more welcome developments has been an accelerating trend toward companies taking a greater ownership in their communities. This isn’t just the case with small businesses that are exclusive to a neighborhood, the trend is also being seen in national companies with a local presence. By getting involved in their community, these businesses owners and their employees contribute far more than the services they supply. They take a degree of ownership in local challenges and contribute to local successes. Even a company with a national presence can get involved in the local level, tailoring its operations to benefit each individual community in which it operates.
