How I Started

In 1996 I has just started on the internet as a total newbie. I was cooking in Tokyo at a Danish restaurant while my wife was pregnant to our only child Akira. It was a wild life for me as most chefs live. I was an irresponsible father just interested in getting pissed after work. I mean cooking long hours you just want to do that kind of thing. Anyway to cut a long story short, my wife gave me the ultimatum.

Yep, she sure did! It was either I give up cooking and pursue a different more normal career path or lose her. Well I chose to change that. I left the job and we struggled for a while. I also struggled as to what I should do with myself.  We decided to get the computer we had online, connected to the internet at that stage 64kbps was the fastest access through the telephone line. You had to actually dial-up and wait for that funny sound it made and then you were one the way. This was exciting but everything was slow.

Increasing Your Knowledge

Then it occurred to me what was behind all these pages. So I did some research and found out that it was HTML. Okay I thought I would go to the book store and look for books on this kind of stuff. I could not find anything in Japan, so I asked one of the store clerk’s and he said that he could get me some books. So I said go for it. I cant remember what the books were but I am pretty sure it was the HTML for Dummies.

I sat there pretty much everyday and learned this HTML until I was capable of producing a website. The next step was to get a hosting plan. Again as I did not know how to do this I had to do some research on hosting. Anyway I found a small service and it wsa an apache server and had to learn how to manipulate this. Once I had some knowledge under my belt I made a small website with my resume on it with simple graphics using Paint Shop Pro.

A New Beginning

Then I looked in the local magazine for a job doing HTML or web page design. I was lucky enough to find a job for a beginner and applied for the job. Alan Margerison was kind enough to give me the job and from that point on my knowledge increased daily and I also began to learn all the new programming technologies that came out. I would sit for hours on end programming, designing and basically pulling my hair out learning this stuff.

It took me a while and I am still learning all the stuff even today, I learned the Microsoft side of things and now today I am learning PHP which I kind of like. Since that time I have worked for various companies like Microsoft, small publishing companies my own start-up learning different disciplines all required to be successful on the internet.

Be Smart And Work Efficiently

So what I am really trying to say is this. If you want to make money online from no money forget it. You need to learn and dedicate a good part of your life to learning all the different facets of the internet. Do not believe people or sales copy that says you plug-in and the money starts to roll in. It takes time patience and dedication.

You can money online quickly if you have the money to spend and buy all the services to be done for you. That is definitely possible. But in the end I feel if you are to make money online a considerable amount of time, money and effort is needed to succeed in this growing market. Especially when the economy drops everybody is running to the internet to try and find the easiest way to make money. Forget if you want to make money online quick it is not as easy as what they say you need to spend and learn. If you do you research most of the guys that are making money online have been around for quite a while and have either had some prior knowledge that has sped up there learning curve.

There are so many products out there that out to catch the newbie internet home business entrepreneur. Some of them are absolute scams which I have fallen into the trap they laid. But I am warning you now try to avoid them. I find the one time fee product that offers making money online for example people who sell you $27, $37, $47 up to $97 for a one time fee are generally to be avoided. If you are willing to pay a recurring monthly fee then you are definitely onto something more worthwhile as these business owners are providing constant updated content for you to learn.

I have bought quite a few products now and have found the majority of them to have the same information hidden behind different and fancy graphics. I mean you got to give it to these guys the sales copy are so enticing that it made me  and millions of others want to buy it. So now I stay clear away and only follow certain people and there ideas. Once you know the basics you will have the tools to succeed and that just comes down to motivation and the will to get onto it everyday without fail. Buy one product and do it, I fell into the trap of all the sales hype and wanted to buy anything and everything. Not anymore. You will get lost and find yourself really frustrated and give up and become a skeptic.

So my advice to any new internet home business entrepreneur find a good product and stick with it. Follow it step by step and persevere with it. Then that way you will find out the results of your hard work and learn. It may take 6 months before you start making money. Once you have that coming in find another product and do it again. Basically doing this you are building your knowledge and building your asset base of internet products or web presence.

So that was a little bit about myself and how I have been making money online. It takes time so that is why I have made this web blog to help and provide the best articles tools and products for the new and used entrepreneur trying to making a passive income. I want to start with the basics and work my way up to the advanced topics.
